One of the areas of our organization's activity is volunteering. Volunteers are people who are ready to sacrifice their own time, share their professionalism, knowledge, reputation and connections for the benefit of society, without material compensation for their work.
Almost every undertaking cannot be done without the help of volunteers – sincere, kind, proactive, responsive people. Volunteers of the “wise age” provide support to elderly people within the framework of the “Equal to equal” direction, give communication and valuable support, provide all possible assistance.
Volunteers of different ages participate in creative workshops, volunteer events, provide information by phone, help with the delivery of food packages and the organization of events/lectures. With the support of volunteers, minor repairs of household items are carried out, and assistance is provided in the local area of lonely elderly people.
Volunteers of our center gain new acquaintances and communication, support, as well as the opportunity for self-realization, feel their importance and contribution in the development of our region and Community
- Zparticipation in the center’s events, community and cultural work: assistance in organizing lectures, creative workshops;
- Zproviding consultations on various aspects of a healthy lifestyle;
- Zhousehold assistance to clients – minor repairs of plumbing, furniture, household appliances, umbrellas, irons, etc.;
- Zprovision of free initial legal advice;
- Zassisting project coordinators in providing targeted assistance;
- Zparticipation in the distribution of charitable aid;
- Zproduction of knitted goods, handicrafts, handmade cards;
- Zaccompanying elderly people with limited mobility (running errands, communicating on the phone, congratulating on holidays)

✨ In December, the online project "Literary Living Room" hosted a heartfelt meeting with Oleg Sosnin and Alla Melnichuk. 📖 They discussed the role of the Jewish people in culture, poetry, and the history of their native land, and read poems by Pasternak, Mandelstam, and other authors. ❄️ Winter is no reason to stop! The Active Walking project continues even on frosty days. 🕎✨ During Hanukkah week, members of our community's senior generation attended a concert by the Viorika ensemble. The evening was a true gift—filled with music, dancing, and lively conversation. Familiar melodies evoked warm memories as the ensemble's history unfolded before their eyes. 🕯️ Hanukkah is the light we give to each other. During this holiday season, our volunteers visited lonely elderly members of the community 🏠, bringing fragrant Hanukkah donuts 🍩, warm words, and the attention they so desperately need. We also created and distributed food packages 🛍️, thanks to the help of caring community members. A special moment was the greeting of our elders together with children, teenagers from AJT, AJT Junior, and the Mishpacha Family Club ✨ Warm socks 🧦, cards drawn by children 🎨, and Hanukkah gingerbread 🍪, which the children baked and decorated together, became true symbols of care. 🕎The run-up to Hanukkah is always especially busy. This holiday of light and miracle deserves to be celebrated beautifully, mindfully, and in a warm, family atmosphere. To ensure nothing is forgotten and preparations don't turn into a rush, our volunteers have lovingly compiled a handy checklist for everyone preparing for Hanukkah. 🕎It covers the most important and enjoyable tasks: decorating the house, preparing the Hanukkah candles, and preparing candles in advance—at least 44 will be needed over the eight days. 🍏🍐 The harvesting continues! The Jewish community of Transnistria is once again bustling and fragrant—Hesed volunteers have prepared over 20 kg of apples and pears for drying! 🌿 The "Active Walking" project continues to unite cities and people! Our participants from across Transnistria go on walks individually, in pairs, or in large groups. Group meetings are led by a trainer, and volunteers and community workers help those who need support. After all, movement is life, and every step brings benefits! 🏞 To ensure that walks are not only beneficial but also inspiring, we select a variety of beautiful locations. In November, participants visited the embankment, Catherine Park, the Tiraspol Fortress, and observed majestic swans in a pond—an experience that warms the soul and improves health. "Kind Warmth" campaign for Kindness Day ❤️ On November 13, International Kindness Day, we held a special "Kind Warmth" campaign. Volunteers from Tiraspol, Bender, and Rybnitsa knitted warm socks and slippers, which were sent to our beneficiaries in various cities. Special thanks to the Golubchikov family, where three generations knit together! Even a 12-year-old boy contributes because he understands the importance of helping others. 🧶 For our seniors, such gifts are more than just protection from the cold. 👉This week, an online event was held for all participants of the "Caring Connection" project in Transnistria, dedicated to Kristallnacht. This topic is especially close to our elderly participants—their families survived the Holocaust, the ghetto, evacuation, and the loss of loved ones. 🌿Today, Hesed hosted a meeting of volunteers for the "Handicrafts" project. In two hours, the participants cut fabric, sewed, and stuffed soft seat cushions for children. The latest meeting of the Active Walking project participants took place on the picturesque banks of the Dniester River in Bender. Tiraspol residents came to visit Bender residents—together they honed their Nordic walking techniques, shared their successes, laughed, joked, and simply enjoyed time in good company. 💬 ⌚ At the end of the meeting, each participant received a smartwatch, purchased with funding from the Hoffman grant. This watch will help track steps, measure heart rate, and inspire them to move forward! 🎨 Volunteers held an inspiring tote bag painting workshop for Day Center participants. Two hours of painstaking work transformed ordinary bags into vibrant, unique pieces! 🌈 Volunteer Center RVC volunteers taught how to properly apply a design to fabric, prepare the surface, choose paints, and design the finished image. They helped, offered suggestions, and corrected minor mistakes—and the result exceeded all expectations! ✨ A special atmosphere of comfort and inspiration reigned at the latest volunteer meeting of the "Handicraftswomen" project. Our craftswomen sorted through synthetic padding for pillows, mended clothes, and shared their DIY life hacks. Men also found something to do at these meetings: repairing sewing machines. Volunteers shared their life hacks not only with each other but also with other Community members. Natalia Plits was especially inspiring, showing Day Center participants how to make stylish potholders and hot pads from old jeans. "When you make something with your own hands, you put a piece of your soul into it. And when you create it with friends, the warmth is doubled," shared a meeting participant. 🍂 As part of the "Crazy Hands" volunteer project, a creative workshop dedicated to autumn was held. Participants created soft, 3D fabric pumpkins—warm, cozy home decorations. For the older generation, such activities not only offer an opportunity to express their imagination but also provide useful fine motor skills training, a good mood, and warm conversation. Music lovers from our community enjoyed a magnificent concert at the Palace of the Republic!
